About our Training Courses
We are passionate about providing an excellent range of training to meet the needs of our learners. All our training courses have been developed and are led by our team of experienced Peer Supporters who have a proven track record of success in delivering training and over 20 years of experience supporting women/parents and their families with breastfeeding and infant feeding.
Our training courses are endorsed by The Quality Licence Scheme. The Quality Licence Scheme, endorses high-quality, non-regulated provision and training programmes.
Training Courses Available
Award in Breastfeeding Awareness at QLS Level 1
This training course is best suited for those with an interest in increasing their knowledge and awareness of breastfeeding, for example those studying or looking to study healthcare subjects or midwifery, doulas, or nursery nurses. It is aimed at those with little or no breastfeeding knowledge and you do not need to have breastfed to complete this training course.
Award in Breastfeeding Awareness at QLS Level 2
This training course is best suited to those who have already completed their Award in Breastfeeding Awareness at QLS Level 1 (or equivalent). This training aims to provide a more in depth awareness of breastfeeding and optimal infant feeding practices and you do not need to have breastfed to complete this training course.
Award in Breastfeeding Peer Support at QLS Level 1
This course is designed for mothers/parents who have breastfed (chestfed, nursed or given human milk) and would like an introduction to Breastfeeding Peer Support. It may be beneficial for learners who would like to gain a greater understanding of the Peer Support Role, as well as gaining some of the basic skills and knowledge needed before they begin to support breastfeeding families. It may be more suitable for those who would like some basic skills rather than more in depth Peer Support training which would enable you to have the skills and knowledge to confidently support families.
Award in Breastfeeding Peer Support at QLS Level 2
This training course is designed for mothers/parents who have breastfed (chestfed, nursed or given human milk) for a minimum of 4 weeks and who have an interest in breastfeeding. This course is most suitable for those who have completed an Award in Breastfeeding Peer Support Level 1 (or equivalent) and/or are wanting to increase their breastfeeding knowledge with a view to becoming a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. It is suitable for those who wish to develop their existing knowledge of breastfeeding, gain confidence, and develop their peer support skills.
Award in Breastfeeding Peer Support at QLS Level 3
This training course is designed for more experienced Breastfeeding Peer Supporters, who have breastfed for a minimum of 4 weeks and who have already completed their Award in Breastfeeding Peer Support at QLS Level 2 (or equivalent). The training is designed for Breastfeeding Peer Supporters who would like to learn more, to progress within their role and increase their confidence in all areas of the Peer Support role by building on their existing knowledge and skills.
This course and/or training programme has been endorsed by the Quality Licence Scheme for its high-quality, non-regulated provision and training programmes. This course and/or training programme is not regulated by Ofqual and is not an accredited qualification. Your training provider will be able to advise you on any further recognition, for example progression routes into further and/or higher education.
